Industrial Wi-Fi + Fast Roaming for a Stable and Reliable Communication Foundation for Intelligent RGV Transportation!

–Project Background–
The project is located in the intelligent warehousing area of Wuliangye’s production facility, where RGV vehicles operate continuously along circular and linear rail tracks. Dense storage racks, equipment, and complex indoor structures create challenges for wireless signal propagation and mobile connectivity.
During operation, the RGV vehicles need to maintain stable and continuous communication with the warehouse control and dispatching systems. The wireless network therefore needs to provide:
- Continuous wireless coverage along vehicle routes
- Fast and reliable roaming between APs
- Stable data transmission during movement
- Reliable connectivity for 24/7 warehouse operations
GPSENKE deployed an integrated solution combining Industrial Wi-Fi Coverage, Industrial Wireless Clients, Fast Roaming, and Centralized Network Management, providing a reliable wireless communication foundation for automated RGV transportation.

The project adopts an intelligent warehouse wireless communication architecture integrating: RGV → Industrial Wireless Client → Industrial Wi-Fi AP → Industrial Wireless Network → Control / Dispatch System.

By strategically planning wireless coverage zones along the RGV routes, the system enables vehicles to rapidly switch between AP coverage areas while moving, reducing the risk of communication interruptions during roaming.
–Project Site Deployment—
For the circular rail sections, wireless coverage areas were strategically planned according to the RGV operating routes to maintain stable wireless connectivity as the vehicles continuously circulate.
For the linear rail sections, wireless AP locations were planned based on track length, vehicle operating range, and the surrounding environment, helping minimize the impact of building structures, storage racks, and equipment on wireless signal propagation.
Through the coordinated operation of Industrial Wi-Fi APs and onboard wireless clients, the solution provides a continuous wireless communication environment as RGV vehicles move between different operating areas.


—Network Management–
The project provides centralized wireless access for mobile equipment through the industrial wireless network. Combined with fast roaming technology and wireless connectivity strategies, the solution enables stable communication for RGV vehicles during movement.
As an RGV moves along its designated route, the wireless client dynamically switches between APs according to changes in wireless signal conditions. With support for IEEE 802.11k/v/r and GPSENKE GP Roaming technology, the solution helps minimize the impact of AP transitions on ongoing business communication.
Meanwhile, centralized wireless network management enables unified monitoring and management of wireless devices and connection status, providing a reliable foundation for future network maintenance and system expansion.
