Industrial Wireless APs + Centralized AC Management | Reliable Connectivity for Wind Farm Operations!

–Project Background–
This project is located at a wind farm in Qinghai, China, consisting of multiple wind turbines. Wireless coverage is required across turbine tower bases, nacelles, and surrounding areas to support on-site maintenance, device connectivity, and data transmission.
Due to the distributed layout of turbine components, different areas require coordinated wireless coverage. The project also requires centralized AC management and a redundant controller architecture to reduce the impact of a single AC device failure on network management reliability.
To address these requirements, GPSENKE developed an industrial wireless solution combining industrial wireless APs, centralized AC management, coordinated indoor and outdoor coverage, and AC redundancy. Strategically deployed APs provide wireless connectivity across tower bases, nacelles, and surrounding areas, while centralized management improves network maintenance efficiency and supports reliable wind farm operations.

–Project Site Deployment—
For each wind turbine, two industrial wireless APs are deployed at the tower base and two inside the nacelle, providing wireless access across different areas of the turbine.
The project deploys hundreds of GP-AP1200-Q-V6 units to support wireless connectivity throughout the turbine infrastructure.
For surrounding areas, wireless coverage is planned according to actual site conditions and connectivity requirements, supporting wireless terminal access and data transmission for on-site operations.
Through area-specific AP deployment and centralized AC management, GPSENKE provides unified wireless access and management across the wind farm, establishing a reliable communication foundation for daily maintenance activities.

Following equipment installation and network deployment, the GP-AC300 controllers centrally manage the field wireless APs and monitor their online status to ensure that devices connect properly to the AC management system.
All deployed GP-AP1200-Q-V6 units successfully came online under AC management, meeting the project’s deployment requirements.
Multiple GP-AC300 controllers are also deployed to support the required AC redundancy architecture. This improves the reliability of the wireless management system and supports continued operation of the wind farm’s wireless network.
